To All Interested Parties for the MCA Mustang 50th Birthday Celebration Driving Event:
I want to thank all of you for your interest in the event this year.

On this site, you will find all the information and forms about the driving event being conducted at
Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. Please pay close attention to the safety equipment and
helmet requirements. All cars will be subject to a technical inspection.

For those of you who have never participated in a driving event, let me take a minute to tell you a little
about it. Driving events are just that. They are neither timed nor competitive events. THEY ARE
NOT RACING. You are allowed to run on the full 2.25 mile course at Charlotte Motor Speedway
which includes approximately 90% of the oval and 8 turns in the infield under close supervision. We
have maximum speed limits which are enforced. Each morning, all drivers participating that day
must attend a mandatory Drivers Meeting. At this meeting you will be informed of the driving rules
and given specific instructions as to how the event will be conducted. SAFETY is our watchword.
Our ultimate goal is for you to have fun in your Mustang and be Safe. Subject to availability, a limited
number of experienced drivers will be on hand to provide lead-follow or ride-along coaching which
will be handled at the morning drivers meeting.

We will allow passengers to ride in the Novice run group (D group) only. Only one passenger per
vehicle. Drivers in Groups A, B, & C may drop down to a D run group for one session if you wish to
take a passenger. Helmets will be required for passengers. The process for giving rides will be
explained at the mandatory drivers meeting.

The driving event will be held Thursday April 17, Friday April 18, and Saturday April 19, 2014. Due
to the fact that this is being conducted on a road course, the event will be run rain or shine. Space is
limited so register early.

We reserve the right to modify the schedule and the run groups due to actual registrations. It may
become necessary to combine or split run groups depending on the mix of experience of the drivers
registered each day. Each run group will have about 30 cars. We anticipate that there will be six 20
minute sessions per run group per day for a total of 120 minutes of track time per group.
Convertibles (without roll bars) may run in the Novice class (D group) only. Convertibles with roll
bars and seat belts conforming to the criteria listed in the Driving Event General Information may run
in any group.

We are looking forward to a fun and safe event. Our first and foremost concern is your safety. Please
help us to all have fun and abide by all rules and instructions. If you have any questions send an email
to Tom Hennig, Driving Event Chairman, at tomhennig@carolina.rr.com.
We look forward to seeing you at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Sincerely,

Tom Hennig, Chairman, MCA Driving Event Committee for Charlotte Motor Speedway
